Ms. Uy-Yam was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2012. She is a member for the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (Makati City).
Ms. Uy-Yam earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ateneo de Manila University. She subsequently received her Juris Doctor degree with Second Honors from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where she authored a thesis entitled “Go Ukay-Ukay: Repeal of R.A. 4653, Legalizing Importation of Used Clothing.”
Ms. Uy-Yam is an expert in corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, technology media and telecommunications, capital markets, banking, finance, securities law, project finance, and Fintech. She has successfully managed complex and high-profile mergers and acquisitions involving both private and publicly-listed companies, as well as capital markets transactions. Ms. Uy-Yam routinely provides guidance to clients regarding the entry of foreign investments into the Philippines, establishment of domestic corporations and other corporate entities, applications for primary and secondary licenses with regulatory bodies including the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Insurance Commission, and other government agencies. Her experience extends to cross-border and commercial transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, securities offerings, legal and regulatory compliance, technology licensing agreements, equity and debt capital raising activities, public-private partnerships, and project finance arrangements.
She has provided expert guidance to both international and domestic clients across the processed food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, pet feed, cosmetics, and sportswear sectors in safeguarding and enforcing their intellectual property rights within the Philippines.
