Ms. Katrin Jessica “Kat” I. Distor-Guinigundo leads the Litigation Practice Group, bringing a career’s worth of perspective that spans from her tenure as a public prosecutor in the nation’s largest city to her current role representing clients across all levels of the judiciary, and administrative and quasi-judicial agencies. Her versatile practice encompasses civil, labor, commercial, family and estate disputes, and criminal matters. She has represented high net worth individuals and prominent business and political leaders in complex legal proceedings.
Ms. Distor-Guinigundo’s practice extends to landmark constitutional litigation, notably representing petitioners against the Anti-Terror Law and serving as an oralist before the Supreme Court in the petition contesting the transfer of PhilHealth funds to the National Treasury. Beyond the courtroom, she provides comprehensive regulatory and transactional counsel, including advisory support as well as the drafting, implementation, and review of legal documents. She has received formal training as an arbitrator through the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center (PDRC).
She is a member of the International Technology Law Association (ITECHLAW) and has represented the Firm in ITECHLAW Conferences around the world. She is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society – Philippines (LESP) which is composed of professionals engaged in the commercialization of IP Rights.
Ms. Distor-Guinigundo was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2017. She successfully completed the 47th Philippine Prejudicature Program, which is for prospective members of the bench, with a GWA of 85.47%. She attended summer courses on Public International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law. She is a member of the faculty of the Philippine Law School (on-leave) as well as the Ethics Committee of the Philippine Football Association. She is currently finishing her Master of Laws at the Ateneo Law School.
